What if all of those things about him that you love were gone tomorrow, would you still love him?
Love is not determined by the one being loved but rather by the one choosing to love.
Greek word, agape (uh-GOP-ay) – love that is selfless and unconditional – “in sickness and in health,” “for richer or poorer,” and “for better or worse” – true love
Commitment, not feelings or circumstance
“[Love] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13:7-8
No more saying, “I love you because…” Now, say, “I love you, period.”
Do something out of the ordinary today for your significant other – something that proves (to you and to them) that your love is based on choice and nothing else. Wash his car. Clean the kitchen. Buy his favorite dessert. Fold the laundry. Demonstrate love to them for the sheer joy of being their mate.
Has your love in the past been based on your partner’s attributes and behavior, or on your commitment? How can you continue to show love when it’s not returned in a way you hoped for?
